Refund Policy
This page covers the MacTidy free trial, how to cancel, and how to get your money back. It applies to MacTidy subscriptions bought from Neural Ops, LLC (“we”, “us”) through our checkout at Lemon Squeezy.
The short version
- Fifteen days free, with every feature unlocked. Cancel before day 15 and you pay nothing.
- Cancel any time from inside the app, in two clicks. You keep MacTidy until the period you paid for ends.
- Ask within 30 days of any charge, including a renewal, and we refund it in full. No reason needed.
- Scanning stays free whatever happens, so a refund never locks you out of seeing what is on your Mac.
1. The free trial
MacTidy comes with a 15 day free trial with every feature unlocked. You start it from the app, which opens Lemon Squeezy's checkout. Lemon Squeezy asks for a payment method there, but charges nothing during the trial.
When the 15 days are up, the trial turns into a yearly subscription and you are charged the price shown at checkout, which is currently $19.99 a year plus any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live. If you do not want that, cancel before the trial ends, as described in section 2, and you will not be charged at all.
If you forget and the first charge goes through, the 30 day refund window in section 3 covers it.
One trial per person. If you have already had one, checkout may go straight to a paid subscription.
2. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, during the trial or after it.
- In MacTidy, open Settings, then Subscription.
- Click Manage or cancel subscription. This opens Lemon Squeezy's customer portal at
app.lemonsqueezy.com/my-orders, which signs you in with a link sent to the email address on your order. You do not need a password or an account with us. - Choose to cancel the MacTidy subscription.
You can also go to the customer portal directly in a browser, or email [email protected] and ask us to cancel for you. No phone call, no retention offer, no form to fill in.
When you cancel, future charges stop and MacTidy keeps working until the end of the trial or the year you have paid for. Cancelling on its own does not refund a charge you have already paid. If you want that money back as well, ask for a refund under section 3.
Removing this Mac's activation is not cancelling. The “Remove this Mac's activation” button in Settings frees the licence so you can use it on another Mac. Billing carries on.
3. The 30 day refund window
If you are charged and you want your money back, tell us within 30 days of the charge and we will refund it in full. That applies to the first charge after your trial and to every renewal after that. You do not have to explain why, though it helps us if you do.
When we refund the current charge, we also cancel the subscription so you are not charged again, unless you tell us you want to keep it.
4. Renewals
Your subscription renews once a year on the anniversary of your first charge. Before each yearly renewal we email a reminder to the address on your order, with the date and the amount.
If a renewal catches you out anyway, it falls inside the same 30 day window as any other charge. Tell us and we will refund it and cancel.
If the price changes, we will tell you at least 30 days before it affects your renewal, so you have time to cancel first.
5. If you are in the EU or the UK
Consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom have a legal right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days. For digital content that starts working straight away, that right can end early once you ask for the content to be supplied immediately and confirm that you understand you are giving up the right. Lemon Squeezy's checkout may ask you to confirm exactly that.
We do not rely on that confirmation to refuse a refund. Our own window is 30 days from every charge, which is longer than the statutory 14, so you will not need to rely on the right of withdrawal to get your money back. If you prefer to use it anyway, tell us that you are withdrawing, by email to [email protected], and we will treat it the same way.
Nothing in this policy affects your other statutory rights, including your rights if digital content is faulty or not as described.
6. How to ask for a refund
Email [email protected]. To help us find the order quickly:
- write from the email address you used at checkout, if you can;
- include the order number from your Lemon Squeezy receipt, or the last four characters of your licence key;
- say whether you also want the subscription cancelled, if you have not already done that.
A person reads every message. We usually reply within two business days.
7. How the money comes back
Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for MacTidy, which means they process the payment and the refund on our behalf. We never see your card number.
- We usually issue an approved refund within two business days of your request.
- The refund goes back to the card or account you paid with. We cannot send it anywhere else.
- You get back the full amount you were charged, including any sales tax or VAT, in the currency you paid in.
- Most banks show the refund within 5 to 10 business days. Some take longer, and that part is out of our hands.
If you paid in a currency other than your card's own, your bank may convert the refund at a different rate from the original charge. We refund the amount you were charged in the original currency; any difference from the exchange rate or your bank's fees is outside our control.
8. What happens to your licence
When a charge is refunded, the licence key that came with it stops working, usually the next time MacTidy checks in. The app goes back to its free mode.
- Scanning keeps working, free, as it does for everyone.
- Cleaning and the other tools that change your Mac are locked again.
- Nothing on your Mac is deleted or changed by the refund. Anything MacTidy already cleaned when you asked it to stays cleaned, and anything it moved to the Trash stays in the Trash until you empty it.
9. If something went wrong
If MacTidy did not do what this site or the app says it does, we want to hear about it, because that is a bug and we would rather fix it. Either way, you can have your money back.
If a fault in MacTidy is the reason, the 30 day limit does not apply. Tell us what happened and we will either fix it or refund you, and if you would rather have the refund, you get the refund.
10. If we remove a feature
If we remove a feature you were relying on during a year you have already paid for, tell us. We will refund the unused part of that year, worked out by the number of full months left, even if the charge is more than 30 days old.
11. When we may say no
We say yes to almost every refund request. The exceptions are:
- Outside the window. A request more than 30 days after the charge, unless section 9 or 10 applies, or the law where you live gives you a longer right.
- Repeated refunds. If someone keeps buying, using and refunding, we may decline the later requests.
- Misuse. Where a licence has been shared, resold or otherwise used in breach of the Terms.
- Somewhere else. A purchase not made through our own Lemon Squeezy checkout, for example through a reseller or a bundle. Please ask whoever sold it to you.
None of these limits your statutory rights.
12. Chargebacks
Please email us before you dispute a charge with your bank. A refund from us is quicker than a dispute and does not need any evidence from you. If a charge is disputed, Lemon Squeezy may suspend the licence while the dispute is open, and we may ask the bank for the dispute to be closed once we have refunded you.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. A change never takes away a refund you were already entitled to for a charge made before it. If a change makes the policy less favourable to you, we will email subscribers before it takes effect.
