Refund Policy
Draft, not yet reviewed by a lawyer. These documents were written to match what MacTidy actually does, and they follow the usual structure for a macOS software product sold in the US and the EU. They are a starting point for your counsel, not legal advice, and they are not a substitute for review. Every [MARKED] item still has to be filled in, and the choices about governing law, the EU representative and retention periods are decisions only you can make.
1. Try it before you pay
MacTidy gives you 15 days with every feature unlocked and asks for no payment method to start. That is the honest way to find out whether it suits you, and it is why the refund policy below is simple rather than generous.
2. The refund window
If you paid and changed your mind, email [SUPPORT EMAIL] within [NUMBER, COMMONLY 14 OR 30] days of the charge and we will refund it. You do not have to explain why, though it helps us if you do.
3. If you are in the EU or the UK
Consumers have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. For digital content delivered immediately, that right ends once delivery has begun with your express consent and your acknowledgement that you lose the right, which is what the checkbox at checkout is for.
We do not rely on that waiver to refuse a refund inside the window in section 2. The statutory right is the floor, not the ceiling.
4. Renewals
We send a reminder before an annual renewal. If a renewal charge catches you out anyway, tell us within [NUMBER] days and we will refund it and cancel.
5. What we cannot refund
We cannot refund a purchase made through a reseller or a marketplace; ask them. We may decline repeated refunds on the same product, and we may decline where a licence has been shared in breach of the Terms.
6. How long it takes
Refunds go back to the original payment method through our payment provider, usually within [NUMBER] business days, though your bank may take longer to show it.
7. If something went wrong
If MacTidy did not work as described, that is not a refund request, it is a bug, and we would rather hear about it. Either way you get your money back if you want it.
8. If we remove a feature
If we remove a feature you were relying on during a term you have paid for, tell us and we will refund the unused part of that term.
